How this estimate works
Level 1 has 15 requirements, from FAR 52.204-21. Level 2 has 110, from NIST SP 800-171 Rev. 2, in 14 families. You rate each family, and bigger families count for more, because they hold more requirements. “Not sure” counts as not in place: if you can’t show it, an assessor can’t score it as met.
The result is a band, not a number, on purpose. A real score needs every requirement assessed against its objectives, and at Level 2 the requirements carry different point values.
